About Reiki
Rei-ki = Universal Energy
"I have been seeing Ellen for reiki treatments for a couple of years now. She has magical hands that makes me completely relaxed with new energy and all the stress is blown away."

Reiki is a healing system from Japan, composed by Mikao Usui who lived there in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Reiki as a technique is influenced by meditation, principles from Shintoism, Buddhism and martial arts. Very briefly, it is about balancing energy in oneself or another person. Those of you who have practiced yoga or tried acupuncture or acupressure will recognize the nice, relaxed feeling when blockages and stiffness or pain disappear in the body.
In Sweden, you can get Reiki on your Health Care Allowance. I am connected to Epassi through which, for example, many public employees receive their health care allowance.
In Reiki, no equipment is used. The person giving the treatment holds their hands on or just above the client's body. As a client, you are fully clothed and sitting or lying down. Reiki can never hurt and you absorb as much of this beautiful energy as you can and need at the moment.
Reiki quickly became known in Japan, but it was not until the middle of the 20th century that Reiki made its way out of Japan and began to spread. Like other Eastern traditions, Reiki was taught directly from teacher to student, and it was the teacher who decided when the student was ready for the next step. When Reiki spread to the United States and then to Europe, a more western model of teaching was established, with courses and less personal contact with the teacher. Här hittar du mina kurser.
There are different kinds of Reiki, I practice Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki which can be translated to “Usui's method of spiritual/universal energy healing”. It is traditional and largely without influences from other types of healing.
It is important to remember that Reiki is not health care and should not be a substitute for that.
